1070 A/C Switch

My A/C thermostatic switch is going out. It has a sensing tube that is susposto go under the evaporator. How do you get to the evaporator through the outside on top or through the inside by removing the cab liner? Thanks for your help.

Top cover comes off then there is another cover over the coils that needs to come off. The front screws are in slots so they just need to be loosened.
