Case 300 point gap question

My father has what he believes is a mid 1950s model 300b tractor. So I have 2 questions. First, where is the serial number that may tell me what year this tractor is, and are there any tell-tale features on this tractor that I should look for which would indicate whether this is a 300 or 300b? My goal is to find a repair manual for this tractor, and to find out what the point gap should be.

TOP: 300B built 1958 & 1959 model years. Square nose sheet metal. Tag is on the left side of the tractor on the steering cowl. Pix is 311B adj wfe ag tractor.

BOTTOM: 300 built 1956 & 1957 model years. Round nose sheet metal. Tag mounted on steering cowl below or to the right side of steering wheel. Pix is 311 adj wfe ag tractor that belongs to Roger300 the instrument panel restoration guy.

Both series come in different models I.E. wide front or narrow front, adjustable tread or fixed tread, etc. Basically the same tractors where unrelated to sheet metal, head lights, steering wheel (1959), bolster, transmission housing, rear wheels, etc.

Both series gas engine is 148 cid. Point gap is .0.020".
