Finally got some pictures of my 730 that I was having problems with the pto on last summer. To give you all an update changing the hydraulic oil seemed to have cured my problem. Loader lifts good with out pto slipping.

Been on slow dail up so I haven't been taking and uploading any pictures to speak of. Picked up the 730 from my nephew who works for a JD dealership for 1750.00. There were day's I thought I paid way to much for tractor and loader. Loader needs lots of welding, tractor needed some proper maintenance, hydraulic oil changed, tune up, screen inside fuel tank, and starter rebuilt. Come summer I will have to pull some more maintenance on it. Thought I would share some pictures of it.

Looks like its in pretty good shape. just keep care of it and do the work you need to do. i know a couple people that have these and they seem to be bullit proof.

Caseman,
That looks like it was a pretty good deal for a late model 730. Do you know if Assman Implement is/was going out of business? If so, are there any CaseIH dealers left in SD? Thanks, Don PS I do know of 1 in Onida, but they were originally IH and Chevy.

For $1750 you got a GOOD tractor. I have a 730 CK and have worked mine pretty hard for about four years now with no problems. We have an 800 in thje family since '59. It has that same Case 251 motor. That motor has never been overhauled. Have no idea how many hours, lots and lots.

Caseman - Tractor looks great. You can't buy anything like that for $1750 around here. The tractor looks good, but the snow is another story. I have a 830 CK diesel that I am restoring at the moment. All the mechnical is complete (major overhaul)just starting to remove sheet metal and get to sanding/wire brushing/and sandblasting. Darn cold weather.

Don't think Assman are actually going out of business, Yes they did have another sale to clean up. Don't know the whole story but thought they were staying in business. Still some dealers in SD. Dealership I worked for was told by Case that if they didn't sell some red tractors we didn't need to sell their parts, Company had been IH for 95 years so they thought they were safe. Well Case took it away from us and made the dealer in Rapid City the Case dealer. Well turns out they aren't selling any red tractore either. Thier main push is Kubota and Bobcat.

Only other Case IH dealer in western SD is Kennedy Imp. in Philip SD. They were told the same thing we were but they must have better lawyer as they got to keep parts and service for another 5 years. They mainly push Mccormick and New Holland. Not to change, but New Holland has dealers in Rapid City, Philip and Sturgis.

I do know a company by the name of Titan has been buying up other dealerships in SD and ND. Have heard of at least 3 in SD and they also have construction in Rapid City along with Jenner Equipment. Jenner I believe was actually a true JI Case dealerwhen they first started. Yes been awful cold here to. Beautiful day today. Went and cut 2 loads of wood.

Gary,
What type of trany do you have in your 830. Wouldn't mind finding a 830 CK myself. Always told my self I was going to quit buying at the 100 series.

Wow! Talk about bang for the buck, wish there were deals like that on 730 Comfys in this neck of the woods. (East central Mo.)

Holy cow caseman!! How you sleep nites bringing home deals like that? We've had a loader on our 730 for 35 years, over 8,000 hours on the ol'e girl with the original clutch yet. Great tractors. I mix 85W-140 gear oil with the thin Trans-Hyd oil.

John,
Thanks for the reply. Anything a person need to pay attention to. I have to replace some hydraulis hoses, haven't used the 3 point yet so don't know how good it works. One problem I am having is the throttle control. Seems like I've got 3 postions, low idle, high idle and half throttle. Once it's full throttle I can seem to get it to run about 12-15 rpms. Not sure if the problem is in the throttle lever on colum ot other area. Tried to lube everything up. Think tac reads 5966?? hrs. Also if I don't drink to much coffee at night and have to get up to p I sleep pretty good. Good deals make the bad deals seem better.
