Zimmy_10, The tractor is worth whatever you feel it's worth.Everything depends upon the premise that you WANT this particular tractor. There are lots of extenuating circumstances around the word "worth".How are the tires? The sheet metal? Live 3 pt.lift? How long has it sat? Indoors or out? Antifreeze in oil? Water in oil? A tractor that was being used yesterday, and has a cracked block today is worth more than one that has a cracked block and has been sitting for years....lots of different circumstances add or subtract from "value"...Good Luck, either way!

This tractor is a 1953 year model. I 1953 Case started using 6XXXXX numbers for Rock Island built tractors and 8XXXXX numbers for Racine built tractors, so the formula of "4" from the first 2 numbers no longer applies... Gene

They are not all that rare. What it is worth depends on how much you like it and how much you are willing to pay for it. I have paid more for tractors I really wanted. If you want someone to put their value on it, I am going to say, with a cracked block, it is worth around 5 o 600 dollars.

The VAC-14 is not a rare tractor. There were 7505 of them made. They were a popular tractor as the operator position was lowered and made easier to get on and off. They were popular for small acreages and estate type operations... Gene

1954 was the last year for the VAC14.

The VAC-14,VAH,and VAI were all still being built in 1955. I have 1955 VAC-14 tri-cycle front ser#6039238 with build card.1955 VAH ser#6039921 with build card and a 1955 VAI. The information in the case buyers guide is incorrect and hopefully someone will come out with a revision of this information. If these tractors weren't built in 1955 what was being built in the Rock Island plant?

This discussion is confusing me. I have what I always believed is a 1956 VAI, S/N 6014291.

My understanding is that a few VAIs were made in 1956 before shuting down the line.

You guys agree ? Thanks..

In Full Steam Ahead 1954 VA series starting serial number was ser#6011500 and finished with ser#6014270. 1955 starting serial number was ser#6038001 finishing ser#6040248. With your serial number being between these numbers I would believe your VAI to be a late 1954. In Full Steam Ahead it also says that a low number of VAI's were made in 1956.

In our area a VAC-14 with cracked block is worth between $500 to $600. Unless it had some sentimental value you may be better off to buy a running tractor. you should be able to buy a VAC-14 between $1500 to $1800 in good shape
