I have a bought a David Brown 883, the lift arms only come up when I start the tractor, doesn't matter what possition the lever is in? The arms won't go down until the engine is off? I changed the oil & filter. I opened the only bleeder that I know of to see if there was air in the system....didn't work.. Do the arms have to have alot of weight on them? Even when I stand on them they won't come down.. Any suggestions would help. THanks..

Have you got the three way valve that is positioned behind the Hydrualic lift lever set in the Hieght position. That is the middle postion pointng forward if this is in the other positions it will give you pressure to the lift arms.To alter the position you should pull the hydrualic lever fully back to alter the valve position.
