I HAVE A '47 AC 'B' THAT I'AM RESTORING NOW.
IT HAS THE WIDE ADJUSTABLE FRONT AXLE. MY TIE ROD
END IS WORE OUT.(THE SIDE WITH THE SOLID ROD)WHERE CAN YOU GET A NEW ONE? AND MY BEARINGS IN THE GEARBOX ARE SHOT TOO. CAN YOU STILL GET THE BEARINGS AND SEALS TO REBUILD THE GEARBOX?

You might have to print this to get a good look, but as to the bearings on the stearing shaft its self, there is a snap ring at both ends of the wormgear inside of the stearing box. These snap rings hold the ball bearing cups in place. If, and this is a big if, if the cups are not rusted and pitted you can buy the steel raceballs them selves at a hardware. I get them at ACE but others have them as well. If the gearbox set around with water in it for years you will need to find the complete bearings and might even have to have the wormgear reground where the raceballs run.

The gear box bearings and seals on it should be available from a bearing supplier in your area. Just look in the yellow pages for a bearing supplier. Just bring the old ones with you and they should be able to match them up, or the bearing and race numbers. Remember you have to bring the race or race number also, some bearings were fitted to various races. I used a local bearing supplier in my area to get all of the bearings I replaced on my D-17, it was really easy that way, and they even worked down the price when I asked, especially if you need quite a few bearings. I also had to get the steering input shaft sleeved since it was worn where the seal lip road. One thing they did't have is felt seals, like the ones used on the wheel hubs. I didn't like those anyway so had some machine work done to intall the double lip seals in the hubs.
Don't know about the tie-rod ends someone else can probably help there.

If this has a Ross gearbox, NAPA has the cross shaft seal in rubber (NAPA part # 11065 - Chicago Rawhide brand). I managed to find new bearing cups at an Agco dealer in Canada although they seemed to think they were worth their weight in gold!!! You might try having your local dealer locate a set or just try replacing the ball bearings if the cups aren't worn too bad.
