Hello,

I've got my '42 C apart and the 'bridges' at the top of the block between the sleeves are cracked.

Is this a problem? I'll be instaling new sleeves and pistons and am considering decking the block, should these bridges be welded first?

thanks for the help,
mark

Mark; You did'nt say where other cracks are. Are they all internal or are they in the outer shell of the block? If they are, the block probablly froze one winter. This can also be fixed, but it ain't going to be easy. I would have the block boiled out and then closely inspected to determine
if it is repairable or if it will have to be replaced. Good luck.

Not a problem. Most B's, C's have them, the head gasket will seal the cyclendars.

Good luck

Ted
