WC -> WD -> WD45 and many mix up which model they have.

Some of the late WDs received the transmission of the WD45 at the factory. Broken tractors may have been repaired by swapping sub-systems.

Is your shifter straight (WD) or curved (WD45) or really long and angled (WC)? That may help what you are searching for.

Do a google image search and/or find a pdf copy of the WD/WD45 repair/service manual.

.

Tried a straight to long tried a bent one
about a 22degree both to long not a wc I
know the difference : everything lined up
even took tower off to look at good !
Whole tower measures 8 inches tall !

The serial number is on the rear end, below the left brake cover. Anything above s/n 127,000 will take the "curved" WD45 shifter which is DIFFERENT than a straight WD shifter.

So, you installed the shift cover?? If you installed a WD45 shift cover, the transmission gears should have been helical teeth (teeth at an angle) instead of spur gear straight teeth. The two different transmissions each have their own shift cover AND gear shift.
