WD stuck in gear

Just like the tile says. Looking to purchase a 1952 WD AC but owner states the tractor is stuck in 1st gear. I havn't looked at it yet. My thinking is the shift fork is worn. How common and how easy is this to repair? Im not concerned about access but the process of having the damaged part repaired or replaced.

I'd bet the shift lever popped out of the fork. Pull the boot and the snap ring. Then you can lift the lever out. Use a long pry bar to realign the forks. The ball on the bottom of the shift lever is probably worn. A Google search will turn up a drawing with the correct specs for the ball. A good machine shop can weld it up and make it new again.
