WC basic in frame OH kit

Just received the basic in frame overhaul kit from YT. Looks like every thing should fit as needed. My question is, the old pistons have two holes on each side under the wrist pin bushing. I assume these
holes are for splash lubrication. The new pistons do not have these holes, is this an issue? This is on a 1935 WC if that matters. I am not an experienced AC man so please have mercy on me.

Shouldn't be an issue. For the record, you can't roll the thrust bearing in the block with the crank in the way. The rear main cap is also the lower half of the rear main seal. I know it's more work, but I would pull the engine out. Don't know if that's your plan or not, but you called it an "in frame" kit. Just trying to help.

Thanks . Pulling the engine was not my plan but have not looked this over real close yet. Pulled the head to see why no compression. Found leaking head gasket between 2 and 3 cylinders and identical
score marks on each sleeve. Wrist pins had not been properly adjusted when installed on last overhaul.

If you are just doing sleeves and pistons, you'll be fine. I'm pretty sure the thrust main bearing is pinned and can't be rolled. Doing main bearings pretty much requires the removal of the engine. Installing the oil pan gaskets correctly goes a lot easier with the engine upside down on a stand as well.
