I am new to A/C tractors and looking at a D17 tractor to possible purchase which needs some repair. Is there a web site where I can get schematic detail drawings of -D17 tractor?

Parts catalogs are available to view on line at AGCO Parts Books. That will likely be about the most you will find free to view on line, other than coming across the odd document. Sign in as a guest user. Enter D17 as the model in the AGCO Allis brand and you should open that catalog.

You need to look at an advertising brochure from the Series 3 or 4 tractors. It has a two-page color cut-away of the entire tractor. What do you want to know?? What area are you concerned about ??

Looking at a D17 to possibly purchase. Engine runs, but has transmission issues (won't move). I know the tractor will have to be split and I am trying to get a feel of what needs to be done if I purchase it.

D-17's are pretty tough and reliable. For one of them to not move at all, makes me think the foot clutch (on the engine flywheel) has the center ripped loose on the drive disc. With the engine running, you need to try the hydraulics (lift arms) or the PTO to see if they work or not. For the "transmission" to be the problem ?? I don't see that, unless the differential spider pin has fallen out of the diff carrier. If that was the case the PTO and hydraulics would still work. I suppose the Power Director clutch area could be empty of oil, but the hand lever would feel funny or the internal gears would be very noisy when the foot clutch is engaged. You need to operate the tractor to be able to diagnose it.
