Power Adjust Rims

When, and on what models were the Power Adjust rims available? I've seen a couple of YouTube videos and some Old A-C archive films. Were they a real improvement? What really was their purpose? Easier to adjust track width?
I guess they required some maintenance to work properly. Rust was probably a problem. I have seen them on CA's. Were they available on C's? If not, could that type of wheel be mounted on a C? Or any tractor that was not originally equipped with them?
Thanks

CA, WD, WD45, and D-17 and probably a few others. One might be able to put a set on a C if the CA center will bolt up to the axles of the C but that I cannot say yes or no on

CA, WD and anything newer all the way to the end. You could get an 8000 series with them. Back when wheels got moved in and out a lot depending on what you were doing, it was a lifesaver. I could move my WD rims in about 5 minutes for both sides and don't need more than a 3/4" socket. Not nearly as important now.

The C is unfortunately a smaller 5 lug axle hub and the 6 lug CA wheel center won't bolt up. Without the wheel center, you couldn't put the PAW rim on it. You'd have to cut the wheel center out, weld in a flat plate and drill it out to fit. You could also fabricate an adaptor but I think you'd have a wide spacing even when pulled in.
