Value of Restored D 10

If I did the complete engine overhaul myself with NEW pistons, sleeves, rings, valves, guides and bearings, clutch etc. there'd be easily $2,000 in parts alone, probably $2500. Four new tires/tubes could be close to $1,000. Paint, primer, hardener,& decals could be $400-$500. Then, there's labor and the value of the unrestored tractor itself. I do all my own work and pay nothing to anyone else except the crankshaft grinder man. THE NEWER IT IS, THE MORE EXPENSIVE IT SHOULD BE. So, what series is it ?? ??

For that kind of money it should be a Series III with the two speed and the transmission gone thru in addition to what you mentioned since a D10 needing an engine overhaul most likely will
need transmission work also. And you'd really need to have your heart set on a D10 to boot.

Well a nice restored one just brought $3200 on the Lloyd Welter auction by Aumann's. I thought that one went cheap. For one to bring $6500 it would have to be a really late model series three and in "new" condition. As for cost the fellow may have $6500 in it but it would be rare to get that out of one. I have not seen any sell for over $5000.

For it to be worth that kind of money it needs to be A-1 condition, new tires, series 3, hi-low trans and three point. If it is a series one snap coupler tractor with 4 speed trans it is worth about half that if in same A-1 shape.
