How can you tell you have a problem with the governor on my 175, is it in the carb linkage or is the problem with the weights on the governor, I was disking with mine and at the turn row raising the disk the engine wants the rev up? what am I looking at here?

Well first off they will tend to rev. up when the load is taken off them. Or you could have a slow governor or governor to carb linkage could be binding up some place all of will cause that

You need to check out the governor as you definitely do not want it to fly apart, hopefully Dr Allis will weigh in I'm sure he'll have a very good idea of what is happening.

I did bend the rod to the carb to shorten it and it's working better now but I don't understand why all the sudden the rod was too long to begin with?

I've seen a weak spring get twisted up and cause funny problems before and it gets hung on the weights etc.

I pulled my unit out to check the governor weights and they are good, bent the linkage rod to the carb and it's working right now, gonna put a carb kit in and she'll be ready to go, thanks for all your help guys
