bubble in sediment bowl

My '41 Allis C won,t start after shutting it off when its hot. Always starts right up when cold. I always notice an air bubble in the sediment bowl when it won't start. I've removed the bowl & reinstalled it & it remains there. If I let it set for a period of time, it starts right up. I have never checked for the air bubble at this time. Should have, will next time. Question; is this always a problem with the gas cap vent, or are there other causes?
Thanks, Ken

Bubble in sediment bowl are you sure it is air not water?? Or do you by chance have an in line fuel filter on it and if you if do that is where the problem is

Just for giggles, next time it won't start, check for spark.

Better yet, check spark when "cool" and note how far it will jump, then when it won't start, check agin in the same manner

Ken loosen the fuel cap next time it happens see if the vent is plugged. My WD45 got a new fuel cap cured the problem.

I have the same thing in my sediment bowl for my B but it's a bubble not water. The gas never fills the sediment bowl completely full on mine. So this is just area where it never fills completely. Also have the same issue with the tractor running and starting when cool but not starting if it's hot till it cools done. I've been told the coil is the issue. I've changed the coil and yet haven't found the issue as that did nothing for me. So I understand but can't offer help as I too am in the same boat.

Do as the other guys have said try to fuel cap and also check for spark when warm. And as said check spark when cold so you know how it looks so you can compare the 2 time

Ken,Try removing the drain plug in the bottom of the carb and catch about a quart of gas, then slap the plug back in.Check and see if your bubble is gone.

Thanks to all for your replies. I'm going to check for spark, & then get a new gas cap. I sure love this C. It has a 5' Artsway belly mower, narrow front with turf tires in the rear plus a Monroe easy-ride seat for comfort & runs great.
