Loader on AC 5040

I have a front end loader (AC brand) on my AC 504 tractor that makes the front end heavy and makes tractor harder to move around in my pole shed. Mostly when trying to park equipment. Power steering works so not too bad. But still clumsy and often get close to striking wall or other equipment. Anyone know a good method to at least remove the bucket and hydraulic arms, leaving the basic loader frame on the tractor? It has "JIC" fittings on some of the hoses. I am willing to get new hoses made with quick detach fittings. Thanks

I always took just the bucket off when mowing with the 3-pt mower.
Sure made it ALOT easier to maneuver and SEE!

The front of the bucket laid down nicely on some 2x6s.

I tied the cylinders to the arms with some rope that had some hooks to make it quick.

Not the easiest thing to get back on, but after a few times it wasn't so bad......used a drift to get the holes lined up for the pins.

We used to have an AC all hydraulic loader like the one pictured, on a 185. We found that with the bucket curled all the way back to full dump, with it setting on a hard, level surface, it would hold up the loader frame. We put quick couplers in the lines and unpinned the frame, removed the lift cylinders, and backed out of it.

Thanks gentlemen. I may try just the bucket removal to start. Agree the bucket blocks sight line more often than one would think.
Bob, did you make it so you could separate the hose going across below the tractor. I will look a little closer. Hadn't thought of being able to back out.

I don't remember just how we did it. I think I man-handled the cylinders across and/or out from under the tractor/loader. I was a lot younger! Now I would probably strategically install couplers to make it easy.

No reason to take the lift cylinders off the tractor just knock the pins out at the loader frame and then chain the cylinders sitting straight up to the loader frame.Put on a couple disconnects for the tilt cylinder hoses. Also grind a point on the cylinder pins you take out so they'll guide their way back in.
I always leave the loader lift cylinders on my Oliver 1550 with the loader, having a 2nd loader really makes the on/off easy and quick.
