My 7060 won't start now. If I open the timing cover on the injection pump, diesel squirts out under pressure like a pop can that has been shaken. with the cover slightly open the tractor starts and runs great but leaks fuel. If I tighten the window cover it won't start or run. Any suggestions?

The RETURN line is plugged or restricted back to the fuel tank. Best way to test for that, you've already proven, loosen the two screw side cover and see if it runs then. When the pump housing pressure rises to equal transfer pressure, the rotor plungers stop moving during the charging cycle, causing shut down. It WON'T be a retainer flex ring failure either, as the DM pump does not have one like DB, DC, JDB, and JDC pumps have.

Check the check valve on the top of pump. Where the return line screws on. You can knock it out with a punch. The ball is glass.

Thank you so very very much, It was clogged and after blowing air pressure back through the return on the pump it started and ran like a champ.

Again THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!!!
