A neighbour passed away and his auction sale is this week. One of the items up for auction is a D190 with a cab and dual remotes:

I don't know a ton about Allis Chalmers, and I can't find much in the way of comparables for sale here in Ontario. Is the 190 a fairly reliable machine? What's a typical example worth? What is parts availability like?

Also, how easily does Snap Coupler accommodate normal 3ph attachments?

I expect it's probably going to go higher than I am interested in spending, but it would be nice to have an idea of it's value, especially as it seems to be a bit of a rare bird up here.

The 190 does not have a Snap-Coupler hitch. It has a 3ph...top link is visible in the pic. IIRC 190 has about 73 pto hp. 190XT is 93.

"Is the 190 a fairly reliable machine?"

No, if you are intending to use it vs. parade it.

If we are being honest here it's worth more as a collectible piece of ag history vs. something one would want to USE and expect it to be durable and reliable.

On a side note, AC has ceased to exist, probably NOT 'cause they made the toughest tractors in the industry.

I can't tell in the pic but an original 190 has a snap coupler. My uncle has one. The series 2 i think has the three point. At any rate part way through they stitched.

The owners and operators were the biggest problem with the 190 series, poor shifting methods, turning up the HP and adding way too much weight caused most of the problems.I run several
AC tractors very reliable and as trouble free as any brand.

They are very reliable, 20 years ago a good runner would sell for $3500.00 now they are $5-6000.00. Must be
running to sell well.

They are very reliable machines if used for what they are supposed to used for , like was mentioned most were turned up , weighted down then had the guts pulled out of them - BOB don't have a clue of these machines eveidently

LOL!

First of all, I'm NOT an "Allis" hater, I think they're CUTE. And make nice "pets" or yard ornaments;

Tractors get used for different things in different areas of the country.

Around here, they get the snot worked out of them doing heavy tillage.

Like it or not, the red ones and the green ones had less "ventilated" engines and trashed rear ends than the orange ones, at least around here.
