D 10 serial number and color.

My AC D 10 serial number is 0 3864 S. What does the 0 and S mean? Also what would be the correct color for this tractor. All Persian, combination of Persian and creme. Silver rims and creme hubs? I believe it is a 1962 model.

Yes, Persian number 2, rims in silver/aluminum, hubs in creme, air stack and muffler in silver, grill creme. Eccentrics are cream as are lugs and nuts on wheels. Lights are black. One thing I'm not sure about is the dash light, later ones were chrome, earlier were black. This is only for 61 and 62.

The serial number should start with D10 and is on the left upper side of the torque tube where it bolts to the engine. Here is an example of where to look:

I'd like to add something here because I'm convinced I was wrong in my advice concerning the rear wheel colors. I've been studying this in detail. As pointed out by Brian in another recent post, the rear lug nuts and eccentric nuts were originally painted silver on the D series and eventually plated in cadmium which has a silver to gold hue. In studying all the videos and books I could, I found that D series tractors appeared to exhibit this up through the D17 Series III, so all D10s would have likely also had a silverish set of rear lug bolts and eccentric nuts. At the time I posted that other thread, I had thought this only applied to the earlier models. I would (and am going to on our D10 Series III) aluminum paint and a yellowing clear for these nuts and bolts.
