Mystery linkage on rear of B

I have a '39 B with a Woods L59 mower. No issues with the tractor or mower but I have a linkage behind the rear axle that I can't figure out. The linkage is free and moves and you can see it has a limit adjuster on it. I'm stumped, can anyone provide details?

Per the AGCO Part Books, looks like it's part of the Hydraulic Pump/Controls.

B HYDRAULIC SYSTEM HYDRAULIC PUMP

Thanks Gatz. Is this tractor supposed to have an internal hydraulic pump? It has a belt driven pump on the right side of the engine that is used to raise the mower deck. The only hydraulic line or equipment on this tractor is for the Woods mower. There is no connection from the engine driven pump to the tractor other than the hydraulic valve used to raise the deck.

That's the hydraulic pump. It's a little two piston, low volume pump, powered off the PTO. There was originally a link, and handle mounted on the seat support.

Thanks Bob. I see a small pivot shaft just above this linkage, probably where the lever mounted. I'm guessing the pump wouldn't be sufficient for raising the Woods mower as efficiently as the engine mounted, belt driven pump would? I don't remember seeing anything about the hydraulic system in the copy of the operator's manual, but then again, I wasn't looking for it either as I didn't think my tractor had one. I am grateful for the information.

the factory pump is more than adequate to raise the deck... but you must have the PTO shaft engaged and clutch engaged to turn it............. the belt driven pump allows you to raise the deck when you are setting still with the clutch pushed in... LIVE HYDRAULICS.

Thank you for clarifying that for me Steve. I understand why they put the aux pump on it now. Everything works well just trying to learn all i can about my little B.
