Can someone tell me what type of thread is the plug for the hydrualics on a 185. The thread is really deep and wide. can't find anything like it at rural king or any of the shops around town.

There are TWO drain plugs for the hydraulic system. The one that points straight down to the ground is 1/2" pipe threads (very common) and the one pointing straight ahead on the PTO box is the odd one. I can't tell you what it is, but it might be coarse thread bolt ?? with a gasket used to seal it.

The rear end plug is also the odd plug I have never been able to find anything that fit exactly, when I put a crossover line on my 180 because the seal went out between the trans
and rear I had a machine shop drill the plug and weld in a 1/4" nipple.

Here is my question, like the gentleman above my seal went out and for the time being I was looking at putting in a cross over line. I only see two plugs the one straight down is 1/2 pipe, I thought that came out of the tranny? And the odd plug coming out of the front. Thanks.

There is also an odd plug in the rear, you need to drain all the oil out and then run a hose from the rear end plug to the 1/2" pipe plug in the trans.Fill with hydraulic oil.
