Oil Pickup Tube

Any opinions on using thread locker or at least thread sealer on the oil pickup tube where it threads into the block? This is on the G-149 block. I've disassembled three of these now, and all of the tubes were extremely tight.

I've only ever overhauled probably 6 or 7 of those over the years and always left that tube alone. If it was tight.....leave it be. I had no problem cleaning the passages with it installed. So, to answer your question, I guess I'd lean towards a thread locker so it could never move.

I had to remove it for the machine shop to accept it and it was tight. Thanks, that confirms what I was wanting to do.

I never used thread lock. I just tighten the snot out of it going back in. I take them out with a 10 inch pipe wrench and what ever length of cheater pipe it takes. I should say took out. My tooking out stuff has come to an end.
Drop your rocks I know most would use taking out.
