will a cultivator from a B work on my C?

As Jerry said it will work with a wide front. The B has the one row that would be under the center of the tractor and the front tires of a narrow front would run over your crop. The B cultivator mounts in halves to the torque tube bell housing on each side. The B and C use the same torque tube bell housing as far as the bell housing mounting holes.

a c is two row and a b is one row, I think the tires on a c have to be all the way out for two rows

I think it would mount to a C but the C would have to be a wide front end style to use it.

Plus you'd need some pretty wide rows because of the extra width off the C
