Gas gauge leak D15

I have a serious gas gauge leak on my D15 series. It is coming
from the gasket. Was wondering if float is attached to gauge and
how much trouble would it be to get out. I could make a gasket,
but would be easier if I could use a form a gasket sealer. Anybody
had this problem before.

That is a mechanical assembly that all comes out in one piece. No Problem. Just have to turn as necessary as you remove it- it will be obvious.

I just replaced mine on a D17. I got some gasket material from NAPA and made mine own.My son also told me that "gasket maker" out of a tube, does not work when exposed to gasoline.

Put a little gas-resistant sealant on the screws that hold the sender to the tank before you put 'em back in.

Thanks everyone who replied. Got tractor gas leak fixed yesterday.
It had a rubber O ring in it that was almost completely gone. Found
an old guy who works on old tractors, he gave me a rubber wring and also
made a square gasket out of gasket material. Problem solved until next one.
