6 rim equal a 6.50 tire?

We are pulling the old 16" truck tires off the front of the D17. The rims measure 6" across are 6.5" tires wide enough for these rims? I was kind of surprised to find one of the tires didn't have a tube in it - that rim must have been in better shape than I thought.

That might be a wider rim than for the 6.50. I have 6.50 on mine bit I think the rim is 4.5" or so. A good tire shop could tell you.
