WC exhaust

Was wondering when Allis changed the exhaust on the WC to the straight up through the hood arrangement like a WD.

I think when they styled them but I would need to check my parts book to be sure. Technically the 45° exhaust was for the kerosene engines.

according to the parts book all WC engines gas and distillate up to engine serial number W-106509 used the 45 degree exhaust, after that serial number the gas only engines were through the hood. My 41 distillate is styled and has the side exhaust. Many years ago Allis quit making the 45 degree manifold and you were forced to use the up manifold and cut a hole in the hood if you had to replace it

Dad"s first WC had the side exhaust. Styled, sn 77717, 1939. He was a farmer-dealer...kept the last one he ordered.
