Finally go the gear off my short shaft, to replace brass bushing and oil seal.
Can someone tell me what the 3 holes or dimples in the shaft are for- and there are 3 matching holes in casing that look threaded.
Nothing on parts diagram showing this..
See pictures...
Thanks

I"ll guess that they are not in a concentric circle. and are for adjustment....like in the holes in the WD pulley assembly.

I was almost wondering if they had some sort of ball with spring behind it to hold steering in position slightly, and they would pop up inside when you turn the wheel.
I am baffled...

No idea what your talking about! I have reworked several and do not remember seeing anything like that.

I know I have not sen the holes in casing or the shaft anywhere, they look to be original too.

Hoping someone will know..
Thanks for the pics..

Dick- how do you post pictures now on the site, I used to use photo bucket and they now want $$ to use their site, and my pics wont show up.

thanks

It looks like you need to do something in your photobucket site to allow posting.

Email the picture to me and I will most likely be able to post it if I can see it the email.

Here ya go. It looks like someone was trying to keep the tractor run straight with out working the steering wheel. Other words a bright idea that didn't have a chance. :)^D

Easygoing,

I just scraped a C pedestal and the gemmer gears that you didn't want from the other forum, They were in good shape too. I offered them for sale a few times but no one was interested so I scraped them... I needed the room

Easygoing, Here is a thread on how to post photos, plus there is another easier way now with the "Upload Photos/Video" button at the very bottom of the posting form. The only trick in either way, is to make sure your photo files don't exceed 2MB. Camera photos are often way too massive nowadays to post and you have to use settings to keep the size down.
