Allis C Steering Gear Removal - Help

I have a 1944 Narrow front with short steering shaft at pedestal.
I have the segment gear that is held onto the short shaft with a set screw from the side and it is keyed on shaft I think.

Set screw and jamb nut are off, I have applied some heat - But cannot get gear off inside the housing - very little room to work.

Any ideas how to help it off, I believe it should just slide off - it was loaded with grease so no rust in there.

Need to replace bushings.
My final attempt will be cutting the shaft and re-welding once bushings changed. Really don't want to do this..

HELP.....
Thanks in advance..

You are referring to the horizontal shaft, right? I wonder if you couldn't try to use a tie rod splitter (aka pickle fork) on the outside and drive the shaft out. I am guessing that years of use have galled the shaft enough that the gear is stuck on. Cutting would be my last option unless you are a way better welder than me.
