Hello--I'm working on an allis-chalmers D14, need to pull the rear axle shaft to replace seal, check bearings. I have pulled the center bolt-& shim pack, tapped on axle flange without getting too rough] moves a bit & stops. I don't have manual for this tractor, but parts diagram shows snap ring, bur looks like they locate bearing cups? gonna ask questions before I do more thanks for any help----

I always hammer HARD on the bolt and replace it with a new one. If you have a helper use a long bar on the outside prying outward on the axle, that will help. I'm talking a 3 or 4 lb hammer. Sometimes you can lay a hyd jack on its side and press it apart. Snap ring has to be moved out of the groove for the bull gear to slide on the axle.
