Can anyone tell me what a D 17 wide front end would weigh in at

If you are talking just the wide front axle frame, hubs, tie rods, swing arm and the front pivot pin bathtub, I'd guess 350 to 450 lbs. If you are talking the whole steering gear box under the radiator, double that figure.

Sorry, I meant the whole tractor. To see what weight classes it would contend at tractor pulls

My D-17 series 1 that is a dedicated puller weighs 3650 lbs with 15.5 x 38's and wheelie bars. A normal D-17 weighs between 5300 and 6300 lbs depending on the fluid in rear tires. A series 4 weighs more than any older D-17.
