Allis B Generator Flashing

1951 Allis B. Generator sat for some years and then was worked on. Thinking that it might need to be flashed. How can I check the polarity on it? What's the best way to flash it? Never flashed one off one of these tractors before.

Thanks!

momentarily jumper from hot battery source to Armature on generator. Can touch armature either at generator or at regulator/cutout. If jumping to armature post on generator touch the nut or wire connector NOT the bolt threads. There will likely be an ark spark when you make the connection and you don't want to damage the threads.

Is there a way to check the polarity of it now? Because if the polarity is right, I don't want to reverse it.
