I know a older gentlemen that has a B model allis chalmers with a belly mower. He says it runs and he used it last year. He says it needs rear tires really bad and he is not using it anymore because his son is cutting his grass now and he would sell it for 500 dollars. He says the mower works great and all the pulleys are fine. Saying all that would that tractor be worth 500 dollars even if it needs rear tires . Thanks for yalls advise and help.. Im going to go look at the tractor hopefully tomorrow.

Easily. Last one I saw sell was stuck with badly weather checked but usable tires in origional condition. It brought $600

I paid that much for a stuck B in 1990s dollars. I wouldn't think twice to close the deal today. If the mower is a sickle bar, it doesn't count in the price but the deal is still excellent. If the mower is rotary, it's an exceptional deal. I'd pay that much for a rotary mower to put on a B, and the turf tires to use it to cut the lawn would be merely an expense (and cheaper than another lawn tractor). A B without weights and with the right tires is good as a lawn tractor. I'm planning to restore an IB this winter and it will be an excellent lawn tractor. BTW, I paid significantly more for a new deck for my JD X304 lawn tractor than you will for the B.

Well i went to look at it today . It has a woods belly mower on it. I should have took a couple pictures but it really looked ruff.
Thats saying a lot coming from me. I pulled the dipstick and the oil was milky also. The sheet metal was good but was old iron rust colored. I do know how good it can look with a little TLC but whew. The rear tire were no good at all actually had big holes in them. In saying that do you still think 500 is a good deal. The old gentleman says this tractor does run and runs well i just didnt have time to do all that today. But if yall still think its worth it ill get it running and see then

well i saw the tractor today and whew. Read my reply to ytsupport and if yall still think its worth it i just might buy the thing.

I forgot to mention. This tractor does not have the camel hump front axle it has a straight axle would that make it something other than a B. And the belt from the mower deck goes to a pulley on the (sitting in seat) left side in front of rear axle housing.

Sounds like an adjustable wide front, and those have more value than the fixed arched style front ends. If it has straight metal, and runs good,
I'd still buy it. Used tires could likely be found, and if not, new are not that terribly high priced in that size. The last one I bought new was about $250 a couple of years ago for the Aukuret brand.

Fyi-- I just checked with my old tire supplier. If I still had my tire shop 9.5x24 6 ply Carlisle tires would cost you $190.24 each + tubes if needed. That price would have been put on the tractor at the shop. But I no longer own the shop. Location south central Iowa.

i bought a C this spring for 1400, has a L306 woods 6' belly mower on it. works well, love it. well worth the money.
