snap coupling, w d allis
when i unhook the plow and begin to replace the drawbar, it is a struggle. anyone have any slick tricks for putting the draw bar back into place?

If you are putting the bale and the drawbar on together it gets pretty heavy for a 70 year old man.

Removing or installing....it"s easier if you loosen the two large bolts on the strap across the top of the drawbar. Raise the far end into the Snap Coupler housing, then lift the drawbar to pin the bail in place. Then tighten those two bolts.

old man I knew had a D14 like mine,
he was a crafty old dude,
he made a stand, I think he drove some post in the ground so it would not move,
I was just about 1/2" to 1" lower than the hitch, he backed over it, release the hitch,
it dropped down, but only a short distance.

he could put it on easy as the weight of the hitch rested on the stand,

he also had a factory built aftermarket 3pt hitch for his tractor, only one I ever saw,
they cost about $400 back then, but well worth it as it also had a removable hitch bar, like a ford or Ferguson,

the main problem is placing the bolts into the holes. one will go in pretty quick, but, ah the 2nd is a problem. plus having to hold the weight.
finally put a jack under the hitch end and that helped a lot. maybe mine is warped or bent? hmmm

NO...just loosen the clamp bolts a little, give the hitch an upward jerk, to slip the cross plate toward the drawbar END a short distance, then tighten them back down..

Pull the pins or put them back in with no trouble..will slip right up, just back onto the drawbar with the front of the hitch cribbed up..

Clamped TIGHT, I never seemed to need to pre-position the cross plate..

Real simple throw the end of the draw bar into the snap coupler bell about a half dozen times until it finally clicks in, then lift your guts out and struggle to get the draw bar arms up on the front pins and then drop the draw bar a couple times then finally get it back up on the front pins and get one of the rear pins in place then beat the center piece with a big hammer until
you get the other pin lined up.Its just that easy no problem.
