WC Hard to start warm

Our 37 WC died on July 4th.
Sent the mag out to have it rebuilt after removing the cover and discovering things looked pretty old. Had a bad condenser and a few other small things and a good clean up.
I was hoping this would solve the problem we've had with starting after its warmed up.
No luck.
It's still very stubborn and this last Saturday I had to let it sit for a few hours before it would start.
It's a crank start only so this is a pain.
I have it set a little retarded to be safe when cranking it.
Would setting it closer to TDC help this problem?
Note - it usually starts easily when its cold.

How are you shutting it off? Try turning off the gas & let it idle until it dies. It maybe is flooded if you use the kill switch.

Yes always using the kill switch when we plan to start it up soon after.
I'll try the fuel shut off.
Thanks

No start warm is a sign the coil is bad. I wish the mag shops would through the things in an oven and get them warm when they diagnose them. Sent mine in and got a big bill for it only to have the same problem as you.

Excellent point.
The gent that rebuilt it seemed very experienced but he probably didn't heat it up as you say.
