belt pulley for a G

I accidentally dropped my belt pulley assembly and the cast v-belt drive pulley (318524) didn't survive. I see that for an arm and a leg ($125) there's one on ebay, but would anyone here be willing to part with one more reasonabally?

How badly is it broken? I would never suggest welding or brazing a high-speed, or heavy rotating part such as a flywheel, but a little beltpulley could probably be repaired easily and safely.

Come to think of it, IIRC, the beltpulley on my late Uncle's G was steel. Did you break the housing or the pulley?

It was a cast iron one that I broke. I've not seen a steel one, but wouldn't be adverse to that either. At least 5 pieces, 4 of which I have. Local hardware stores don't have anything steel that could be readily converted to work.

What O.D.?

Does it fir a splined shaft 1-1/8" or 1-3/8" O.D.?

BTW, 1/2" sure sounds narrow, what would that be, and "A" belt?

It?s for 1/2? back width V belt (A, 4L) 5? OD and centers on the 4 holes of 5/16? diameter that are on a 1 15/16" bolt circle. (No splines.) The clearance hole in the center needs to be at least 1 1/4" diameter, not necessarily square. I'll try to post a photo.

OUCH! I'd silver-solder or braze that if I had all the pieces!

If originality isn't important, it would be easy enough to drill 4 holes in a steel sheave blank, such as made by G&G and sold though many farm suppliers.

Leon Check these out and just drill the holes to bolt it on and shim out with washers if needed.
