water pump pulley assembly

I have a water pump that I just purchased for my Allis Chalmers D 15 Series II tractor. The part # is 79016821. The new pump looks just like the old and everything lines up good. The only problem is the pulley assembly is different. My old one has a cone shaped attachment where the new one does not. My question is, will the pulley assembly, part # 70233395, fit the pump I just purchased?

Without a picture, it's very hard to tell. It looks like an AGCO p/n you have listed. I know what I'd be doing......call the guy you bought it from and ask him. You'd think they'd want to be selling a repair part that actually fits ???

Without doing any research/looking at pictures, I can tell you AC threw us a curve ball on the D15II water pump. Most of those engines, for years, had an adjustable, two piece, tin pulley, which bolted onto the hub, along with the fan. The D15II uses a much thinner belt, and I think the water pump pulley is a solid chink of cast iron, pressed onto the shaft?

You don't want to be messing around pressing things on/off a new water pump. It's too easy to bust something.

nmjersey, I've changed your username so you can post photos now if you'd like to post shots of the old and the new pulleys, or if you don't have the old one now, to see what you
ended up with.
