Sickle Mower questions

I picked up a WC this morning for parts and through conversation with the seller, he said he had a belly mounted mower if I might be interested and I could look at it before I left. I'm interested so I followed him into the barn. It's a Dearborn Model: 14-4. He said he bought it at an estate auction of a retired tractor dealership mechanic (brand unknown). Story was that the owner had it on a WD45, took it off to restore the tractor and fix up the mower. Tractor got restored, mower got cleaned up and painted but the owner passed before he got it back on the tractor. It was in a pile on a pallet, so I couldn't see a whole lot, however I did get pictures of the tag.

My question is: would this fit a WC? If so, would this have been an original option or any guesses if someone would have taken a Dearborn mower and modified it to fit an Allis? I know Dearborn worked a lot with Ford but haven't heard of any work with A/C. I'm still new to Allis' but it's my understanding that the WD's (maybe WD45) were more or less the same frame as the WC? In a previous post I believe AaronSEIA mentioned that I would need a WC mower?

If it would not fit, does anyone know what make and model tractor it would go on?

Dearborn would make it a ford product. If it was on a WD45 likely it could be made to fit a WC but the WC does not have hyds where as the WD45 does so the lift might be a problem. I'm sure I could make it work but then I have done that type of thing for decades and made many thing fit where they should not have fit

I didn't see any hydraulic hoses or a cylinder but like I said, it was in heap on a pallet and I didn't look real close, just enough to measure the sickle bar length and take a couple pictures of the ID tag. My WC only has a belt pulley, but both of my organ donors have parts for a mechanical lift, so that could be an option if it could be made to work?

The lift on a WC is made for cultivators so it is either up or down no in between. I could have have a hand lift but that to can be a real pain in the back sides. Easy to ad hyds to one for something like that with a simple power steering pump off an old Chev pick up BTDT on a Farmall B I had

If it was the Dearborn side mount it was used on a ford 9n to NAA and with out major retrofit would not fit an Allis. Dearborn made 3 pth mowers as well. Some tractors used a hand lift carry over from horse equipment. It usually relied on a large spring to make it work.

Alrighty. I don't have to have one right now, so I'll just wait it out until I find the right one or until I do have to have one, then I can consider making one fit and work.

I have never heard of a sickle mower made for the WC but I know the B/C had one I so happen to own one my self. Lack of hyds made the WC also not be used for as much as the others that had hyds

There was a WC mounted side mower I have one, think they called it a W mower. It mounted under the belly of the tractor and hooked to the mechanical lift and could be hand lifted. The sickle drive was similar to the B/C mowers. The No.3 semi mount mowers could also be put on a WC
