1959 D14 split questions

I have a 1959 D14 AC that I had previously overhauled the engine and front end. I overhauled the engine, installed a new pressure plate, clutch, throw out bearing, changed the fluids in the front end, new tie rod ends, new rear tires, rewired, new alternator, new radiator, etc. All of a sudden it has developed a bearing/scraping noise that I have determined is coming from the Power Director area. I used a screwdriver up to my ear to determine this. I have already split the torque/transmission and found the oil baffle for the transmission shifter lying in the bottom of the transmission and pretty well chewed up. I found a ton of fine metal shavings in the bottom of the power director compartment. I cleaned everything up, new fluids and I've installed new seals for the main transmission shaft and the PTO shaft. I've reassembled the tractor and on restarting the same gear/rubbing/scraping noise is still there. I can shift the Power Commander from high to low with the noise and the only change is more of a scraping noise in the low position. When I push the engine clutch in with my foot the noise goes away. Is it possible the outer clutch shaft or the inner clutch bearings are causing the problem? Do I need to do a double split and recheck the engine clutch throw out bearing? Does the noise of a bad throw out bearing travel to the power director area give me a false indication? I'm ready to do another torque/transmission split, if need be, but looking for advice/suggestions first. Thank you for any assistance.

Finding a "ton" of metal shavings in the Power Director clutch area isn't a good thing. If all you did was clean out the metal shavings and refilled it with oil, the problem is still in there. The fact that the noise changes when moving the Power Director lever for sure indicates it isn't the foot clutch throw out bearing. That should have been replaced with new when the engine was out anyway. Directly ahead of the Power Director clutch assembly are the intermediate gears. Six gears for the speed ranges and PTO. Eight tapered roller bearings. Far too many of those tractors never got the 2 gallons of oil in there ever changed or even checked. I'm assuming you have bearing/gear problems related to lack of oil or clean oil. I'm not there to give it a listen. Remember, when shifting into low range all the transmission gears turn slower so is the noise from under the seat?? or under the dashboard?? Leave the hand clutch in neutral and the transmission in 4th gear and with the foot clutch pedal up, what is the noise like then?? No tranny gears will be turning and all the intermediate gears will be.
