A friend of mine, his dad bought a new 200 Allis, he claims they had 10,000 hours on it never had any trouble with the rear end or power director,The only thing they didn't use it for was on the silage cutter, because they pulled a dump box, and didn't have enough oil in the system to dump the load.. But long story short i said well the reason you didn't have any trouble was the 200, the final drive was 35% heavier, he says no,it's the same as the one ninety XT, so who is right??

Lots of confusion on the difference between a 190XT and a 200. From s/n 9001 and newer, the 190/190XT had the same 3 1/4" axle size as any 200. Only the older 190/190XT series tractors were 2 3/4" size. All 200's had a larger ring and pinion gear set and wider bull gears compared to a 190/190XT, but the 4 pinion differential was exactly the same in both models. Older 190/190XT's may only have a 2-pinion differential--depends on previous repairs and what has been done to them. Transmission parts are the same except a 200 has a slower speed 1st gear. How anyone comes up with a "35%" number, I don't know. 10,000 hrs on a 5 bottom moldboard plow or disc?? I doubt it. 10,000 hrs doing lighter work or a combination of different jobs with a easy going, not a gear grinder operator in flat land country...maybe.

Thanks Dr,so the ring and pinion was heavier on the 200, but the bull gears were the same, so were both right , LOL. But he always says they got a lot of hours on their tractors, which i don't always believe, Well anyway thanks a lot.

Wider bulls gears on a 200 compared to a 190/190XT. That means 200 bull gears AND ring and pinion were wider/bigger/heavier/stronger.

But i really did hear that figure of 35%, stronger, somewhere in the Allis sales literature, or maybe it was the salesman's figure he grabbed out of the air. Thanks again your the best.

Dad bought a new 200 AC in May 1973...3 days later it was jumping out of gear when plowing..
It ate up 6 alternators but a new dampner pulley fixed that...After those 2 things were fixed it was a pretty good tractor..
