D17 Engine in WD45

All, Does a D17 engine appear the same as a WD45 engine? I.E. Would a power steering pump char lynn match up on a D17 engine in a WD45. Also, would a D17 engine be to much for a WD45 rear end when puling a loader? You are looking at what about 15 more hp on the drawbar?

Any D-17 gas engine to an old guy like me is easy to distinguish from a WD-45 engine. The block has reinforcing ribs on both sides for strength that a WD-45 engine did not have. The engines can be interchanged once the flywheel, rear adapter plate, water pump and crankshaft pulleys are swapped out for the chassis the engine is to go into. The HP increase is only about 5 flywheel HP running at WD-45 RPM's but is 10 HP when sped up to D-17 RPM's. Rear end will hold up OK, but I don't know what "pulling a loader is". Char-Lynn steering parts will interchange just fine.
