I think I have a WD-45 but not for sure cant find any numbers in the places I was told to look the emblems read WD-45 but I know you cant go by that but my real question is on the hydraulic pump and lift cylinders have cylinders in shop being rebuilt . Is there a rebuild kit for the pump and where might I find it at this sie does not carry one according to customer service

Serial number should be on the left hand side of the rear end just below the brake cover on a flat spot. That said if it is a WD it will have a bolt on plate on the right side of the engine and a straight shiftier. If it is a WD45 it will have a curved shiftier and no plate on the side of the engine

Well thanks for the advice but it seem like I might still have a problem there is a plate bolted on the side of the engine, however the shifter is straight but then it is also close to the steering column and gets hung in high gear could the wrong shifter be causing that ??? I wonder as far as numbers on the flat spot fon the flat but no numbers ,now you see the reason for the name but love the old tractors. I made a purchase of three tractors for one price two farmall cubs and the Allis Chalmers beast all run actually work my garden this year with them

Plate on the side of the engine and a straight shiftier say it is a WD not a WD45. Many people love to call a WD a WD45 but there wrong when they do that. As for hanging in a gear that is a common shiftier problem

WD serial number is in the same spot. I am guessing the pump is the same on the WD or WD45. Sandy Lake Imp should have the o rings. Not a lot of "kit" to them.

Pumps for the CA, WD, and WD45 are all the same. What is the reason you feel the need for a rebuild? Might be an adjustment or valve control issue. All straight shifters are WD tractors, but some late ones have the curved shifter....late in 1952, early 1953. Shifters do not interchange.

I'm not sure if the pump needs rebuilding I can only find that out when I get the lift cylinders back I know some of the fittings needs to be tighten up but then I'm stupid I did not know there was an adjustable which will bring up another question later still the only numbers I have found are on the engine by the distributor and on the transmission case between the shifter and the battery box ,would like to see the old beast in better shat but it is a far cry from the D-12 that I would really like to have, thanks but I still ask whatdidido

Scrape all of the paint off of the top edge/flange of the hydraulic pump and you may well find the serial number of the tractor that it was originally installed on stamped there. All indications are that you have a WD.

Well since the cylinder or cylinders are single acting you could hook up a hyd pressure gauge and find out for sure if the pump is good. Simple pressure gauges can be had for around $20. I have one I keep just for checking hyd system on tractors

Those numbers you found are casting numbers. Serial numbers are always STAMPED numbers. Engine serial number is on the left side, near the carburetor. Tractor serial number is on the left side, vertical face of the differential, will start with WD-
