I am looking at a 5030 Allis compact tractor. Can anyone give me the experiences they have had with these tractor, good or bad? How hard is it to get parts for them and do they hold their resale value? I am looking at a 1979 with 1200 hours on it. Any help anyone can give would be appreciated.

Its a Hinomoto built tractor,no parts support,no factory making them. You can get filters and such and some NOS parts still around. In my opinion you have to buy a tractor like that cheap
and run it until something major happens.I have a Massey 220 about the same as the AC 5030 it was a 4WD the previous owner couldn't find front end parts I bought it cheap and put a 2WD
front off a 5020 on it and its a good tractor so far.

Plug in Allis 5030 into Ebay and see what comes up in parts. I bought a new water pump for my Simplicity 9523 which is the same as the Allis 5020. I have over 2000 hours on my Simplicity 9523 no real problems yet. I see they have clutch and pressure plates on Ebay. Most small engine parts can be bought by dimension rather than part numbers. Crankshafts can be rebuilt.
Off the shelf parts would be slim picking. Hiring someone that can rebuild its engine would be at a high cost most likely.

I own a 5020 which is pretty much the same tractor as a 5030. Has been relatively trouble-free. I can get all the filters at NAPA.

I use it with a grader blade and a John Deere grooming mower...has plenty of power for what I use it for.

My cool little Allis is a turf tractor version and came with a belly mount mower..which I deleted for a couple reasons and went with the 60 inch Deere three point mower.

There are some bits and pieces available although I have not needed anything besides normal maintenance items.

I have had a 5030 for several years. Mine has the early transmission with only 8 speeds forward. The later ones had a 12-speed setup which offers more intermediate speeds. Mine is great for rotary tilling; good low gears.
Easy starting. Very good on fuel. Keep the radiator clean so it doesn't overheat!

They will not hold there value, they are ok, no room getting off and on , parts are out there with the internet now theres some good suppliers, more stuff comes up on Ebay now , I have a 5020 it runs great and does good , just that 2 cyl. diesel is funny getting used too, reminds me of the Jonny Popper Grandpa had

Our local dealer in the early 80's sold a bunch of 5020 and 5030's. At work had one with a backhoe and loader. It was used almost every day cleaning out sumps at numerious car washes. Indestructible. But is 35 years later. Dealer is gone.

(quoted from post at 20:55:50 06/17/17) I have had a 5030 for several years. Mine has the early transmission with only 8 speeds forward. The later ones had a 12-speed setup which offers more intermediate speeds. Mine is great for rotary tilling; good low gears.

Mine has a three range shift with low medium and high ranges...low range is so low and slow that it must be for roto-tilling. I usually mow with my 60" grooming mower in high range in second or third gear. Maximum top speed in high range 4th gear is about 9 or 10 mph...slow for going down the road!

Mine runs cool...however I had removed the radiator and had a shop rod it and wash it out. That ended any issues with over-heating. The main reason I took the factory belly mower off was that with all the electric clutch and raised battery mount installed the radiator sucked-up too much grass causing it to overheat...the battery mounted high to clear the electric clutch also blocked a bunch of radiator and didn't help.

I've been trying to buy another 5020 locally that has a factory loader...but bad hydraulic pump and worn-out front axel...just have not managed to get the guy convinced to sell it....I even offered to give him all my leftover belly mower parts for his 5020 figuring the frustration of always having a radiator full of grass clippings would convince him to sell me the whole mess back!!
