My question is similar to the one two doors down about magnetos. Last Fall, I acquired a 39 WC that had been sitting for many years under a tarp. Got it running with minimal hassle, but it died about a minute later, as if it was running out of electrical. First one cylinder dropped, then another, then it stalled altogeter. Left it go until today. Change the condenser, cleaned up and set the points to .020 and put new plugs in it.
Plenty of spark at the plug, gas in the carburetor, but could not get it to fire (hand crank only). My question is, is it possible that I could have set it up 180 degrees out. The wires went back to the same plugs, and i feel confident that I have the "C" and the beveled tooth on the magneto mated properly.
I wonder if I should try dragging it to start it?
