Original WC muffler

1938 unstyled WC, just about done restoring and want to put a muffler on it. I know this is a wild shot however, is anyone repopping the original style or have a good one laying around?

Thanks in advance for the help

Unstyled WC had the 45 degree side exhaust...straight pipe, no muffler. Dad had one...later bought a "47 as a second tractor...had the underhood muffler. I remember how the "38 cackled with the straight pipe.

that's right the original is just a short pipe, well it depends on your exhaust manifold, does it stick out at about a 45 or is it straight up?
If I remember correctly the manifold is the tell tale. I have seen both manifolds on the 38, mine is the short pipe.

Some people use the short muffler but it sticks out the side.
Send me pictures- my 38 is about ready to start after a rebuild

This what i have seen on them at shows.

They had a muffler for the 45° manifold. I have one. Do not think they are being made anymore.

I found a photo with a muffler like your talking about. The caption under picture said that it was an add on and WCs never came from factory
with muffler. That muffler in photo is still made but is said to fit Allis Chalmers B orC tractor.

The B or C muffler is different diameter pipe. My WF has the short oval muffler that was used on the unstyled WC WF. I don't have a good picture of it. It was on the tractor back in the sixties. It is 4x9 oval and about 9" long

it was an option for the early side manifold, but I'm sure that was a couple of dollars
a farmer wasn't going to spend!

Thanks all, the muffler is one that I am looking for. Tractor was bought new in 1938 by my wife's great grandfather. He was a tight fisted Welshman who didn't spend anymore than he had to. However, my father in law now wears hearing aids and is very sensitive to noise. I am putting a muffler on for his benefit.

The WC with the kid and muffler on it is mine. Muffler was bought NOS from AGCO and is the correct one for a WC.
