Allis C Engine - Getting Water in Oil

Hi .. I am still getting water in oil with a new head gasket ..
I know in this video ... I should have NEVER hit the sleeve with a hammer .. it seemed to be okay ..
What I am wondering .. do the sleeves have rubber O rings/ I put a new head gasket on? Do the sleeve O rings have anyting to do with coolant/water? https://youtu.be/raf0Z6DzAXU
Above is a video of the block .. or perhaps the head is warped
thanks
Gary

I am sorry .. I am not familiar with the freeze plugs in the heads . but the very thought seems to be pertenet b/c after I put it back together .. it seemed to quit "shooting" water out the exhaust and all of the water did not drain into the crankcase ..
The oil was "milky" ... but not real HIGH ..

Could you help me identify what I am to look at please . thank you so much !!

Gary

Sleeves have o rings which can leak water into the pan. Freeze plugs in the head can rust out and leak water into the oil. Pull the valve cover and check the freeze plugs. Might want to get one of those radiator pressurizer kits and put some pressure on it. If the freeze plugs are good you can drop the pan and check for leaks around the bottoms of the sleeves.

Thanks so much Aaron ..
Will I be able to identify the freeze plugs in the head?

Should I replace ALL the o rings in all the sleeves? or just those that actually came out when I turned over the engine .. the piston pushed them
up as in the video .. ?

Thx .. sorry I am so stupid on this stuff . ha !!
I will try and find a pic online of the freeze plugs ..
thanks again
Gary

Drain the oil out and pull the pan. Then set a piece of cardboard under it and let ti sit 24 hours. If it is a sleeve seal good chance the cardboard will have coolant from what ever sleeve is leaking on the cardboard

THanks so much Dick .. sure appreciate it !!
Going to a wedding in Missouri tomorrow from Michigan .. so when I get back I will have to pull the cover and go from there .
again .

Thanks much
Gary

Dick or any of you great tractor guys!! .,. what exactly is a "wet sleeve" what is it referring to ? water or oil?
and what is the purpose?

(unfortunately I am in St Louis - actually St Charles .. MO .. for a wedding so i can't work on it)

Thanks much

Gary

GD Could be any number of things cracked sleeve cracked block, head issues really need to pinpoint it before tear down You can use old inner tube and clamp plus air hose to do a make shift tester for radiator. Next a spark plug cut out for an air fitting apply hose to test cylinder (this checks for pressure going into radiator). Some sleeves can develop rust pin holes. If you disturbed them you could have messed up the o ring seal.

Have to be very careful about adding any pressure or you can blow a radiator out. Being a non-pressurized system they do not stand up well to much pressure

Wet sleeve...the coolant is in direct contact with the piston sleeve. A dry sleeve engine will be 100% cast and have a removable sleeve that is pressed into the cast bore. Parent metal bore engines have no removable sleeve. To apply pressure you can buy or rent a coolant pressure setup. Small pump that attaches to the rad fill hole. 5lbs should find the leak.

Would you believe that puts you about 250 miles from me. I live in Missouri the Lake of the Ozarks area

Branson is about 150 miles form me south and west of me. On the map I live close to the junction of Hwy 54 and Hwy 5 or 25 miles north or Lebanon MO which is on I-44

The freeze plugs look good .. so it looks like I will have to take the pan off and give it a look ..

I am sure I have to pull the sleeves .. right? ... to put the rubber rings in .. (?)
Thanks

Gary

I think I will try this too .. sounds like a good idea a way to do it ..
and I would think I could tell where it is leaking into oil ..

thanks much ..

Gary
