Do these use the same engine kit? I'm considering rebuilding a g226 from an E3 gleaner and looking for a kit.

The serial number "code" stamped on the engine block is the information to the compression ratio of the engine. I'd imagine an "E-3" is 8.0 to 1 compression, so the code should be a "Z", which is One-Seventy compression. If the code is "M" it is 7.25 to 1 ratio which is D-17 engine specs. About 4 HP difference between the two engines.

8:1 is definitely pushing 87 gasoline to the limits for average field work..

I have 7.25 in my WD-45 and I pull 4x14" with no problems and NO Detonation..
