feller that is trying to remove the brake wheel, from axle, is having a problem. he has heated and pulled with 2 jaw puller. moved about 1/2 inch and no farther. he is afraid that he will break it.

he believes that a 4 jaw puller would be better.

any suggestions?

stud bolts are broken off in lower portion of axle housing. need to remove, so machine shop can drill out broken bolts.

Apply candle wax as it cools...seeps into small places.

got the brake drum/wheel off of the axle. whew, quite a project.
now to get the bolts drilled out.

got the drum off of the axle. now to get it back on.

Heat it up very hot in an oven or deep vat fryer and have a piece of pipe to drive it on with.

thanks, was thinking about putting dry ice around axle. maybe do both
