Model B Distributor

I have a 1952 allis model b, today it quit on me, under further inspection i found that my points and inside of distributor had oil in it, i cleaned it
out and it fired up fine. Does anyone know what could cause oil to get in the distributor? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in

1952- maybe one of the first B's with a factory distributor? I don't know when they started it, but AC ran an oil line to lube the dist. drive gears. I suppose if you have that, and there's some obstruction to the oil draining from the area, oil could push up into the dist.
