I restoring an 1950. Dole C Alice tractor and I purchased a new sediment bowl assembly that was for the tractor and it won't fit it hits the engine but in the gas tank there's a extison metal peace bringing the mount down app. 3/4" if it was not there the new one would fit but it seems to be part of the tractor the old one was rotten but did not hit the engine any thoughts

That little extension was necessary for the original bowl to fit. It screws into the tank. So if you think the new bowl will work without it, unscrew it, and try it.

Sounds like you bought a larger sediment bowl that was used on that tractor. I have bought several of the correct size and they worked fine. Bigger is not always better. :)^D

If the sediment bowel has an unthreaded part (about 1/4 ") at the top if the threaded part you may need to cut it off as it
will bottom out in the extension nipple before it it tight enough to not leak.

Well the new bowl was ordered through the tractor supply and they said it would fit the glass bowl is the same size but the thread is longer I'm going to try and shorten the thread

Tractor Supply is worthless for anything farm related. If you need anything horse related it's the place to go.
