A few years ago I purchased a D15 diesel that was missing the generator driven power steering pump. After calling an old Allis dealer, looking at some junk yards, and quite a bit of other searching I found out that those pumps were getting hard to find. I learned that a WD45 Diesel and the early D17 diesels used the same style pump. Anyways, I found a pump and got it working on my tractor.
I recently bought an old Kansas State Highway Oliver tractor that has been sitting outside under a tree for 40 plus years. Last night I was looking closer at it and it has a very similar power steering pump as the D15 diesel. It is generator driven, but the reservoir is part of the pump. I haven't removed it from the generator to see how it drives yet. Does anyone know if these pumps will interchange? I was asking because this tractor is pretty much too far gone to fix or restore, it is complete but locked up so I thought I would sell parts off of it. If the pumps would interchange maybe it would be of use to an Allis guy looking for one like I was a few years ago. Thanks for the input.
